Are you looking for a great camp for your kids to attend this summer? If so, you have plenty of options available in the Alabama Gulf Coast area. From golfing and tennis to exploration of marine life, here are a few of the options that are available this summer.
Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club is hosting its Summer Junior Camps this summer, with session running from June 19th through the 23rd and from July 10th through the 14th from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Activities will include daily golf lessons, tennis lessons and time in the outdoor pool with a certified instructor. A swag bag along with lunch at Peninsula Grill each day is also included.
The Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club is located at 20 Peninsula Boulevard in Gulf Shores. The cost of one week at the camp is $225 per child. Two weeks is $400. Each additional child per family receives 10 percent off the cost of attending. The camp is open to children between the ages of 6 and 12, with each required to bring their own clubs, racket, swimwear and towel.
Zoo Camp at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo
Zoo Camp at the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo will take place June 19th through the 23rd from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. Conducted by licensed teachers and trained volunteers, the camp provides participants with the opportunity to explore animal life at the zoo while also participating in animal enrichment activities, meeting zookeepers and greeting some of the animal residents. Campers will also participate in age-specific games, arts and crafts.
The Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo is located at 1204 Gulf Shores Parkway in Gulf Shores. The cost of participation is $175 per attendee. The camp is open to children between the ages of 5 and 11.
Ocean Camp has a couple great camp opportunities coming up this summer, including Dolphin Explorers and Scientists Explorers. Dolphin Explorers provides campers between the ages of 5 and 12 with the opportunity to learn more about dolphins as they enjoy dolphin activities, view multi-media presentations and participate in hands-on activities. A one-day field experience on a dolphin cruise, which is available for an extra fee, provides participants with the opportunity to record behaviors and take photos.
Science Explorers provides participants with the opportunity to explore marine life and the ocean through research, observation of animal behavior and the use of microscopes. The camp is open to those between the ages of 9 and 12.
Both programs take place at Ocean Camp, which is located at 23101 Canal Road in Orange Beach on the second floor of The Wharf next to Breakout. The cost of participation is $125 for a half day or $225 for a full day. Dolphin while Session Three will take place June 20th through the 23rd from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Scientists Explorers is a half-day program running from 1:00 to 4:00 Pm from June 13th through the 16th.
