Jubilee Festival to Return to Old Towne Daphne September 27th and 28th

The 26th Annual Jubilee Festival, which is hosted by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled to take place September 27th and 28th in Old Towne Daphne. The event is known for bringing fine arts, entertainment, crafts and food to the Eastern Shore for one weekend every September. With more than 130 artists and craftsman displaying their work, the event typically draws more than 30,000 people each year.

Each year, the areas best artists and craftspeople put their work on display for the public to enjoy at the Jubilee Festival. Experienced judges pick the best works of the show and award cash prizes to those artists who are the top in their category. This year, a total of $4,400 will be awarded.

In addition to providing festival-goers with the opportunity to view and purchase the works of talented artists, the festival also includes a Kids Art at the Park project. Taking place in Centennial Park, this project will include eight booths set up with arts and crafts activities for kids to enjoy. This year’s activities will include wood sculpture, fish painting and puppet making. Kids will also have the opportunity to participate in a fence painting activity. This year, the festival will also feature a large screen television in the City Council Chambers for football lovers to check up on the game during the event.

As usual, the Jubilee Festival will also feature a Food Court offering a variety of foods and beverages. The Food Court provides festival-goers with the opportunity to sample foods from a variety of local food vendors, merchants and restaurants.

The Jubilee Festival is free to attend. The events take place on Main Street in Old town Daphne, otherwise known as Scenic 98, in front of City Hall and in Centennial Park. The festival stage is located in front of City Hall. Hours are from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
