Firethorne Subdivision Coming to Fairhope

firethorne logo Firethorne, soon-to-be 227-lot subdivision, will be located in heart of Fairhope, Alabama, which is arguably the most charming and quaint city in the state. Established right off of Highway 181 near Quail Creek Golf Course, Firethorne will be in close proximity to the Fairhope Intermediate and High Schools, local shops and restaurants, and is only about a ten minute drive (or bike ride, if that’s more your style) to the Fairhope Pier and Fairhope Avenue. The Pier is known as one of the best local spots for fishing and watching the sunsets and Fairhope Avenue is home to many locally-owned restaurants and boutiques. Some of the restaurants the area offers are Panini Pete’s, Heavenly Creations, Market by the Bay and many others. The subdivision will house custom homes, with Truland Homes building in the Greenbrier section. Nathan Cox, CEO of Bellator Real Estate & Development and representative of the buyers, states that investors paid $2.37 million for the planned subdivision, comprised of 126 acres. Homes are said to be priced ranging from $300,000 to $500,000, with resort style amenities that will include a clubhouse, pool and ponds.

Originally, “Firethorne” is derived from the name of a hole at Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, Georgia, which was first named after the Firethorn bush. However, the name takes on a new meaning now, as it is one of the newest master planned communities featuring Truland Homes. In mid-2015 you can expect to see the homes going up for sale – stay tuned for more information as the builders begin the building process.

  2. Purchase a new mailbox and add shrubbery
  3. Paint your rooms – HGTV suggests that painting gives your home a more fresh, clean look and makes the spaces appear bigger

If you’re willing to go the extra mile and make some higher-cost home improvements in order to get the best return on investment price, try these updates suggested by U.S. News Money and HGTV:

  1. Replace old kitchen appliances and add contemporary ones
  2. Make partial renovations – replace kitchen countertops but keep old cabinets
  3. Remove popcorn ceilings – this isn’t an easy task, but popcorn ceilings are a turn-off for almost all people looking to buy a home

Bellator & Truland parading through the Parade of Homes

This weekend, September 27-28, and next weekend, October 4-5, will be the 25th unnamed (1) Annual Parade of Homes presented by The Baldwin County Homebuilders Association. Bellator Real Estate & Development will feature 18 homes this year, all designed and constructed by Truland Homes, a locally owned original homebuilder in Spanish Fort, Alabama. Daphne, Fairhope & Foley areas attracting millennials

Millennials, or the millennial generation, can be defined as the segment of our population ranging 18-34 years old that were born roughly between 1980 and 2000. Oftentimes, millennials are the children of the baby-boomer generation. The millennial generation is also sometimes known as Gen Y or the Net generation, as they were born during the time of numerous technological advances. In many cases, they are seen as financially unstable, due to debt from student loans, low-paying jobs, and unemployment.

A recent article by stated that Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley, Alabama were Millennial homebuyers ranked number four in the list of top ten markets that are attracting millennial buyers. Ranked not far behind three other markets, the Daphne, Fairhope, and Foley areas have increased in closings with millennial buyers by a solid 12.8 percent. Ranked first was Honolulu, Hawaii, which had a 26.6 percent increase in millennial buyers, second was Birmingham, Alabama, with a 23.9 percent spike, and in third place was Palme Bay, Melbourne, and Titusville, Florida, with a 15.7 percent increase.
